ACTIVITIES – 2026

Since its establishment, the International Labour Confederation (ILC) has
carried out an extensive range of international activities across Asia, Africa,
the Middle East, and Europe, including representation, capacity-building prog-
rams, workshops, and high-level institutional meetings.

For the year 2026, several international activities have already been confirmed,
while numerous additional programs are currently in the planning phase, with
dates yet to be finalized. The confirmed activities are outlined below.

1. International Programme in Iran (Postponed)
18–22 January 2026 | Iran
All preparatory work had been completed for the international programme titled
“Issues and Challenges Faced by Trade Unions”, which was planned to take pla-
ce in Isfahan, Iran, hosted by Workers House, a member of the Governing Board
of the International Labour Confederation (ILC).

Participation had been confirmed by trade union representatives from Türkiye,
Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal,
Chad, Libya, and Portugal.

However, due to the developments and political events that began in Iran on 13
January 2026, the programme was postponed to a later date.

The programme was planned to address the following topics:

◊ Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Labour
◊ Occupational Health and Safety
◊ The Digital Economy and Its Challenges

◊ The Future of Labour
