The reception, held at the ILO headquarters on 5 June 2026, was organized under the coordination of ILC President Ali Yalçın and ILC Secretary General Hamza Öksüz, with the joint hosting of ILC member confederations. The event brought together representatives of trade union confederations, labour organizations, and diplomatic missions from different continents.

In addition to representatives of ILC member confederations, the reception was attended by trade union leaders from Belarus, Western Sahara, Brazil, Morocco, Colombia, Egypt, India, Côte d’Ivoire, Libya, Niger, Guinea, Tunisia, Mali, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Senegal. Numerous international and regional labour organizations were also represented, particularly the Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU).

Among the distinguished guests were H.E. Burak Akçapar, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to Geneva; Mr. Ali Aybey, Director General for Foreign Relations and European Union Affairs at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security; and Mr. Ömer Faruk Aydemir, Deputy Director General.

The reception served as an important platform for strengthening international trade union solidarity, addressing common challenges facing the global world of work, and enhancing cooperation among labour organizations. It once again demonstrated ILC’s growing visibility within the international trade union movement, its expanding representative capacity, and its commitment to strengthening global labour solidarity.

ILC reaffirmed its determination to continue promoting international trade union solidarity in defense of the dignity of labour, social justice, freedom of association, and decent working conditions for all workers.
