ILC President Ali Yalçın Strengthens Ties with Southeast Asian Trade Unions in Malaysia and Indonesia
During his time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Mr. Yalçın met with the leadership of the Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC), an ILC affiliate. He engaged in discussions with MTUC President and ILC Board Member Mr. Mohd Effendy Bin Abdul Ghani, and also met with the team at the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS), represented by MTUC President Datuk Adnan bin Mat and other CUEPACS board members.
The second leg of Mr. Yalçın’s visit took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he engaged with various ILC affiliates. Meetings were held with KSARBUMUSI President Mr. Irham Ali Saifuddin, along with ILC Board Member and KSARBUMUSI Vice President Mr. Soekarjono Kadeni Kartodinomo. Additionally, discussions with the leadership of the Indonesian National Workers Union Confederation (KSPN) and its President Mr. Ahmad Mustaqim helped strengthen regional cooperation.
In Jakarta, Mr. Yalçın met with KSPSI and KSBSI as new members of the ILC family, meeting KSPSI President Mr. Jumhur Hidayat and KSBSI President Mr. Johannes Dartha Pakpahan, along with their teams and union leaders. He also visited the FSPPG-KSARBUMUSI, which has been recognized as a model union by Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower, where he met FSPPG President & KSARBUMUSI Vice President Mr. Djoko Wahyudi.
Mr. Yalçın’s tour emphasized the ILC’s dedication to strengthening international labor networks, addressing labor challenges, and sharing best practices across borders. His meetings with the leadership of major Indonesian trade unions, including KSARBUMUSI, KSPSI, KSBSI, and KSPN, demonstrate the ILC’s commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships with trade unions worldwide.
